Drake Passes the Temptations and Future With His 18th No. 1 Album

Drake just moved into a spot nobody else holds. HABIBTI has become his 18th No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, taking him past the Temptations and Future, who each have 17. The album climbed from No. 35 to the top on the chart dated October 17, following the release of its expanded edition, HABIBTI (FOMO).

For longtime R&B listeners, the Temptations connection gives this milestone some weight. The Motown group had held or shared the record since 1966—a run stretching across generations of music. Drake’s latest move ends that streak, with HABIBTI replacing his own ICEMAN at No. 1.

Whether your Drake rotation leans toward the late-night melodies or the rap records, this adds another chapter to his chart history. What’s your favorite Drake project? Keep the conversation going and listen live at redcuprnb.com.
